Program Description

Event Details

Ever wish you were somewhere over the rainbow? Seeing trees of green, and red roses too? While we may not be able to literally transport you over a colorful arch in the sky, these ukulele lessons are sure to get you started on your music-making journey. In these weekly lessons, students will learn the fundamentals of how to play the ukulele. Designed for beginner musicians in grades 4-6, no previous musical experience is necessary to participate in the lessons. Instruments and materials will be provided.

Registrants are asked to commit to attending ALL 4 SESSIONS in the series, as the lessons will build off of each other, and seats are limited. With only 4 lessons being offered for this series, students will get the most out of the experience if they are able to come to each lesson. Parents are expected to remain on library premises during the duration of the lesson, according to library policy. Students will have the option of checking out ukuleles during the week for extra practice time (ukuleles must not leave the library building--a room will be provided as a practice space).

Lesson dates (Saturdays in October):

October 5th

October 12th

October 19th

October 26th

In the event that a lesson must be re-scheduled it will be moved to the following Sunday. Participants will be notified of the schedule change and new time slot.

This series is made possible by local musician, Chris McCrory, who in addition to sharing his ukulele know-how is also the owner of Guitar Lot in downtown Mandan where he also offers private lessons. Chris also performs in several live bands and enjoys sharing his love for music with the community.
