What is the Friends of the Morton Mandan Public Library?
The Friends of MMPL are an independent, volunteer group created to support the library and its staff through a variety of ways. Their funding comes entirely from donations and membership fees from the volunteers that make up its ranks.
Mission
The purpose of the Friends group is to strenthen, promote, and support the usefulness of the Morton Mandan Public Library to the community. This group coordinates events, fundraisers, and continued public support of the library.
Membership
The annual membership year is the calendar year (January-December). All members are welcome to attend board meetings and general membership meetings. The first meeting held in the calendar year is the annual meeting of the general membership.
Levels of Engagement
There are multiple different levels of engagement you can have as a member of the Friends
Board Member: Positions become available on a varying schedule as term limits end. Board members serve as either an officer or a member-at-large.
Volunteering: Opportunities are available throughout the year. A reminder will be sent out before events when volunteers will be needed. Opportunities include Stories with Santa and the End of Summer Reading Celebration picnic, among others.
Financial Support: If you are unable to serve on the board or volunteer, your financial support is still greatly appreciated.
