Summer Reading Kick-Off

MMPL is adding a splash, a dash, a drop, a downpour, a scribble, a spot, a burst, a batch, a blanket, a patch, a pinch, a touch, and a ton of color to our 2025 Summer Reading Program!

We've got the blank canvas and now we need readers of all ages to supply us with the right tools to "COLOR OUR WORLD!"

The Summer Reading Program officially launches on Sunday, June 1st, but we want to paint the park with Community Partners, patrons, passersby, activities, food, and more to get our color celebration started on Thursday, June 5th.

Meet us in Dykshoorn Park for this vibrant adventure. All are welcome (you don't need to be a participant in the Summer Reading Program).

• 4:00 PM: Yoga for Kids [Dykshoorn Playground]
• 4:30 PM: Summer Reading Kick-Off BEGINS!
• 5:00 PM: Community Mosaic Reveal [East Ramp]
• 6:30 PM: Event ends

During the Summer Reading Kick-Off, MMPL will have information available about the Summer Reading Program and provide assistance with registration; Community Partners will offer games, activities, and information; refreshments will be available; and Molly McLain, local artist, will reveal one of the newly-installed Community-Made Mosaic pieces (assembled by members of the public!).
