Program Description
Event Details
This month's STEM CONNECTION is a chance to let it go. We'll be "launching" a lesson on catapults.
Why does stored energy create so much power? What mechanisms do you need to push a projectile farther? Is this a medieval machine or is there a modern use?
These sessions are FREE and all materials are provided. Audiences of grades K-5th will be most entertained and must be accompanied by an adult.
STEM Connection is a partnership between MMPL and United Tribes Technical College: Intertribal Research and Resource Center.
This Fall, our STEM Connection series takes place once a month from 4 PM - 4:30 PM on Wednesdays:
- October 22nd
- November 12th
Each session of STEM Connection includes a story that helps introduce ideas related to the STEM lesson and a demonstration, lab experiment, or hands-on activity for children to gain a better understanding of engineering concepts.
This programming will take place on the Children's Stage. In the event the attendance is greater than the space, we will move to the Community Room (when available).
Please consider registering for the event so staff is able to prepare supplies accordingly.
