April is National Poetry Month, so we're passing the mic to all poets and patrons.
Having you been looking for a space to rehearse your original verse?
Waiting for an opportunity to unload your favorite ode?
Hoping for a chance to recite a sonnet? Let's get on it!
This Open Mic Poetry Night invites poets of all ages and experience levels to perform a poem. Whether you want to read an original piece, or practice your recitation skills with another poet's work, all experience levels are welcome! And if you'd just like to swing by to listen, that's up to haik-u.
This event will be hosted by Mandan High School Poetry Out Loud advisor, Candace Brannan and her student, DeLainis Kroh, who placed 4th place at North Dakota's Poetry Out Loud competition.
Join us around the MMPL fireplace: individuals, couplets, and entire collections are all encouraged to listen, recite, cheer on, and take the mic.
Teens and adults are encouraged to attend the LIVE! Music at the Library! featuring Chuck Suchy performance in the Community Room following this event.
