Ready to make headlines? March 16th marks #NationalFreedomofInformationDay which promotes the public's right to access information.

In that spirit, MMPL is hosting this special event featuring news-breakers and to launch #NewsBank: a new, digital tool that gives patrons 24/7 access to a variety of news sources.

A line-up of local journalists and news professionals will provide insight, access, and their personal stories about their experiences in the field.

No need to bury the lede, we want to know why access to the news and quality journalism matters!

5:30 – 6:00 PM: MMPL will introduce NewsBank and provide information about how patrons can access and utilize this new tool

6:00 -7:00 PM: A panel of news professionals will discuss the news industry and why they believe that it’s important to individuals and communities to have access to news sources

Everyone is invited to join us for an informal conversation with the names your recognize from print, hear on the radio, and view on television.
