The Friends of MMPL are a nonprofit dedicated to strengthening, promoting, and supporting the Morton Mandan Public Library (MMPL) and its staff, programming, and mission. Members provide assistance with The Novel Idea used bookstore; volunteer during library events; and raise funds to bolster programming, services, and the curation of vibrant public spaces within the library.

A NOVEL APPROACH Silent Auction is a fundraising effort for the Candlelight Concert series provided by MMPL. This series offers adult audiences a chance to listen to live music in a cozy atmosphere, for FREE. Adult programming often has a limited budget in comparison to other age groups; however, MMPL and the Friends of MMPL understand the importance of bringing together the community and the arts. The goal is to financially support local musicians, offer recurring and quality programming, while still keeping these events open and affordable to audiences.

SILENT AUCTION RULES

  • Unlike a traditional silent auction, the bid amount you write down should be the MAXIMUM DOLLAR AMOUNT you would consider paying for a certain basket.
  • A NOVEL APPROACH Silent Auction will have bids open from Friday, November 29th through Wednesday, December 18th.
  • Bids will be accepted through an online Google Form and on physical forms completed on-site at the Morton Mandan Public Library. The physical form data will be collected each evening when the library closes.
  • Both the Google Form and physical forms must include: the bidder's name, bidder's phone number and/or bidder's email address; and your bid of the MAXIMUM DOLLAR AMOUNT you would consider paying for a certain basket.
  • Make only ONE BID per form. (Fill out a new Google Form/Physical Form for each basket you want to bid on.
  • Bid winners (those who offered the highest amount for each basket) will be contacted on Thursday, December 19th.
  • Should a bidder not pick-up/respond to messages about their winning bid by Saturday, December 21st, the next highest bidder will be contacted.
  • Bids can be paid for with cash or check ONLY. Checks can be made out to "Friends of MMPL."
  • Remember, these baskets can be a great solution to finding a last-minute holiday gift AND the proceeds go towards sustaining the Candlelight Concert series, which benefits both local artists and the community.
