It's time to get Scandi-lous!
Rosemaling is a beloved Scandinavian folk art often seen across the Midwest at museums, heritage festivals, and at least one pot-holder or fridge magnet in your grandma's house.
This class for Teens & Adults is a part of the Vinterfest series of events and is taught by local artist, Molly McLain.
Known for its flowing scrollwork, ornate curves, and floral designs, Rosemaling is the art of decorative painting originating in rural Norway in the 1700s*.
Molly will guide participants through basic strokes of beginning rosemaling in the Telemark and Hallingdal regional styles. Participants will come away with practice sheets and their own small Rosemal piece of their choice of design to take home.
This class is open to those at any level of artistic expertise (except Norwegian trolls) and students will leave with a small piece of their own folk art. All materials provided, but seats are limited. Registration IS required.
