April is National Poetry Month, so we're passing the mic to all poets and patrons.
Having you been looking for a space to rehearse your original verse?
Waiting for an opportunity to unload your favorite ode?
Hoping for a chance to recite a sonnet? Let's get on it!
This Open Mic Poetry Night invites poets of all ages and experience levels to perform a poem. Whether you want to read an original piece, or practice your recitation skills with another poet's work, all experience levels are welcome! And if you'd just like to swing by to listen, that's up to haik-u.
This event will be hosted by Mandan High School Poetry Out Loud advisor, Candace Brannan and her student, DeLainis Kroh, who placed 3rd at North Dakota's 2026 Poetry Out Loud competition.
Join us around the MMPL fireplace: individuals, couplets, and entire collections are all encouraged to listen, recite, cheer on, and take the mic.
Stick around afterwards for a presentation on Social Security from AARP North Dakota!
